As we already know, physical activities can reduce the risk of acute diseases, help in weight loss, helps you sleep well and improve your coordination.

Exercising is one thing, yet exercising properly is another. So you have decided to start your fitness program and you have chosen to diet, and at the same time exercise, but you don’t know how to go about exercising, here are ways you can start in kicking off for a healthier living.

Step 1: Set a routine

Having a well laid out routine is a great step in exercising well and achieving your goal. For starters, you must set the time frame in which you know you can work, like how many minutes daily and how many days weekly you can go for.  Starters are always advised to start their workout low and progress slowly because rushing into it with force can make you get tired easily as well as lose interest. For those with a medical condition, it is best you consult your fitness therapist to help set your fitness program.

Step 2: Get your equipment ready

Is your equipment ready? Do you have the right fitness wear and gadget? You should make sure the athletic shoes you have are designed for the workout you are using it for. Using fitness devices such as the activity tracking device should be brought into consideration. Always make sure your equipment is enjoyable and easy to use.

Step 3: Setting your goal and knowing the workout to go for

As a beginner, your purpose for exercising should always be a priority as it helps one stay motivated. Start with simple workouts, the ones you can actually keep and fit inside your schedule. As time goes on, you can add other workout activities to the ones you already have, this is because sticking to just one style of workout can make you lose motivation plus you can equally get bored easily. And also, make sure you don’t do far too many workouts at once, as it can be too exhausting and unnecessary.

Most times, people especially newbie’s don’t know there are rules to follow. There are rules to guide you as you venture into the fitness world. You have rules like knowing when to bend your waist or knee so it won’t result in injury. Knowing when to eat before or after exercise should be considered. Having the right nutrition for exercise helps in fueling the body and also helps one to perform better.

Step 5: Get estimates on your fitness level

When starting out on your exercise, as I stated somewhere earlier, start slowing and build up gradually. Don’t push yourself too hard. Listen to your body and make sure to take enough rest. Get estimates on your fitness scores, it helps to measure your progress. You can assess how far you can walk; check your pulse rate after walking or running. How many sit-ups you can do in a day e.t.c

Monitoring your exercise helps you know how far you have gone and if you are really working towards your goal.
